Our research takes place in many French and German cities. Some cities, like Frankfurt and Berlin, possess drug consumption rooms, while others like Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Munich and Nuremberg do not. In all of them, drug consumption in public spaces is a huge issue of public debate and urban policymaking. Their focus is on the dangers and insecurity faced by citizens and neighbors, thus erasing the risks and safety issues faced by the consumers themselves.
